Brasserie

Indulge in our brasserie!

For many years, the brasserie of The Achelse Kluis has been offering snacks and, of course, our delicious Abbey beers. The brasserie is undergoing a full transformation and is currently expanding. Today, you can also enjoy delicious hot and cold meals, as well as cheese, meat, and combination platters. Some of the favorites are: Achel Stew with Achel beer, a pesto salad with mozzarella and ham, the ‘brother’s platter,’ and, of course, a delightful piece of Limburgian pie with coffee.

A fun fact is that since mid-2023, you can dine at the original Abbey tables of the monks. These stood previously in the large dining hall of the Abbey and can now be found in the side room of the brasserie.

Leashed dogs are welcome in the tavern and on the terrace.

Taste more of Achel!

In the past, you could find Achel Trappists Achel Blond and Achel Bruin in our brasserie. With the departure of the monks, Achel lost its Trappist label. Fortunately, the recipe, ingredients, brewing process, and brewmaster remain. So, you can still enjoy the same delicious beers, now under the Abbey beer label.

The beer selection has since been greatly expanded. In addition to the Tripel and Dubbel, we now also have the Superior beers. Superior Blond is the stronger sister of Achel Tripel, and Superior Dark is the robust brother of Achel Dubbel. As ‘specialties’, we offer our Achel Superior Winter beer (between September and March) and the new Achel Gallant Grand Cru Special every year.
